God has placed our church in immediate proximity to the Casa Illuminara Nursing Home (previously the San Juan Care Center). Our church is in the front of the campus and is connected by an interior wheelchair ramp.
We involve the residents in weekly bible studies as well as our church services. We are available to the residents, their families, and the staff for any spiritual needs 24 x 7.
Nursing Home Ministry in Del Norte, Colorado
We
work closely with the staff in serving the residents. We conduct
non-denominational bible studies on Saturday mornings as well as weekly
worship services on Sunday mornings. We walk the halls and visit residents personally throughout the week. We are there to just say, "hi" and to ask how they are doing. We pray right on the spot for their specific needs and take the time to read a bible passage to them. As they approach heaven's gate we are their to pray for them and with their families.
We know that God is Spirit and that He is searching for worshippers who will worship in spirit and truth. We know that the spiritual man is able to understand things of the spirit. It is because of these truths that we do not ignore or slight those residents who cannot hear, cannot speak, cannot remember, or cannot communicate effectively. We involve them in everything knowing that while we are reading the word of God, the Holy Spirit is searching the mind of God and revealing His thoughts to the resident.
